Challenges of Team Leaders
- How can I effectively manage conflicts within my team?
- How can I ensure that my managers feel adequately supported?
- How can I ensure that my managers effectively communicate the organization's values and vision?
- How do I balance addressing team concerns while maintaining accountability for results, without compromising our focus on performance?
- How can I foster a culture of vulnerability, where open expression is not only encouraged but also embraced?
Building a Thriving Team Culture
The Four Step Team Coaching Approach
While numerous tools and frameworks are available to achieve these goals, I stress the importance of a common language—a familiar code of communication. A common language serves as a fundamental framework, fostering trust and facilitating mature and open identification and resolution of issues. This, in turn, cultivates stronger teams, improves outcomes, and contributes to establishing a resilient culture where teams thrive.
Step - 1
Introducing a Shared Language
I use the Positive Intelligence model to introduce a common language. This model also helps build self awareness through an assessment report.

Step - 2
Deepening Insight
I follow this with a two-hour interactive session within the team to facilitate understanding of the assessment.

Step - 3
Establishing a Safe Space for Introspection
When teams are unfamiliar with coaching, they may perceive it as an intervention, recognizing potential apprehension around coaching, I adopt a tailored approach to establish comfort and trust within the team.

- I schedule a ‘one on one’ discovery (coaching) session with each team member.
- To help them understand their individual assessment report and help strengthen the ‘common language’.
Step - 4
Perpetuating Insights into Habits
I facilitate monthly team coaching sessions aimed at encouraging open dialogue for collaborative problem-solving. Our focus is on embedding the common language into a habit, strengthening relationships, and achieving peak performance, all aimed at cultivating a thriving team culture.
